The Incasn City of Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu was an Incan site near Cuzco, Peru. It was built around 1450 AD for the Ican emperor Pachacuti on a mountain ridge 7,970 ft high. Containing 172 campuses, it was 53 meters long by 200 meters wide. It was “discovered” in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, who believed it was Vilcabamba, a secret Incan stronghold used during the 16th-century rebellion against Spanish rule.
